Bachelor of Fine Arts-BFA

Bachelor of Fine Arts is an Undergraduate level degree program. The program is meant for the students who have a passion to study fine arts and different facets of it like drawing, visualization etc. The program is developed in such a way so as to create interest in the candidates about fine arts. The program covers the creation of visual art works. Some of the visual arts are like photography, sculpture, theatre, painting, architecture and dance. This course is also known as B.F.A or B.V.A (Bachelor of Visual Arts). Both the program are the same. In the initial year of the program topics like portraiture, art history, watercolor, figure drawing etc. are covered in the course.

Top B.F.A Colleges in India

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree can be pursued by those candidates who havesuccessfully completed their HSC (10+2) examinations in any stream from a recognised board.

  • Though there are no entrance test for the Bachelor of Fine Arts course but a few Institutes may conduct these.

  • Some BFA Institutes may conduct an Aptitude Test as well and on the basis of the test the final decision for admission is made.

Bachelor in Fine Arts is a four-year course that covers subjects such as Cartooning, Sculpture, Graphic Designing, Illustration etc. An annual examination is carried out in the B.F.A program. The exams conducted by concerned universities. Theory and practical sessions are included in the course. Projects are also there for the students who undergo the B.F.A program.

What to do after B.F.A?

Once the aspirant finish the program, he/she can study advanced course in Master of Fine Arts. They can specialize in any of the subjects. Diploma programs are also there. Some of the fields in fine arts are like painting, drama, sculpture and music. There are many job prospects for the candidates.
