The National Level Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE) is a diagnostic test that measures the concept understanding ability of a student and provides a detailed feedback on the same to help them improve. It was developed in India for Indian schools after a detailed study of the syllabi of different central and state boards. Unified Council is India's leading scientific assessment organization. Unlike regular tests which try only to find out how much a child knows, this test measures how well a student has understood the concepts. Eligibility Criteria for NSTSE 2015: Both males and females can apply for this test Students of classes II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI (PCM and PCB), XII (PCM and PCB).

NSTSE follows CBSE syllabus. Question papers are also suitable for students of ICSE/ISC and various state boards. Paper Pattern: The exam would be in English language and separate question paper would be set up for each class. The paper would consist of objective-type questions of 1 mark each and there would be no negative marking. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes. Syllabus: The paper is based on CBSE syllabus. How to apply: The interested candidates can apply online and can also download the application form from the official website. Important Dates: The examination is on January 25, 2015 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon. The last date for receipt of applications is September 27, 2014.
 
 


CBSE AIPMT results 2014 to be declared shortly

All India Pre-Medical/ Pre-Dental Test (AIPMT) was conducted on May 4. The results for the same are expected to be declared anytime in the first week of June. The candidates can check the results on the official website once they are declared.The CBSE will prepare the merit list/ wait list as per the directives of the Supreme Court of India, DGHS, MCI and DCI. Once the results are announced, the candidates can download their result sheets and rank cards.

Last week, CBSE had also released the OMR sheets for AIPMT where the candidates were provided a chance to challenge the same in case of any discrepancies.

However, no applications for re-checking/re-evaluation of the answer sheets are entertained by them.

The test consisted of 180 objective-type multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) which were to be answered in three hours. The syllabus was based on topics both from Class 11 and Class 12. The candidates could opt for question paper either in English or in Hindi.

The records of All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test will be preserved till the August 31.

AIPMT or the All India Pre Medical Test is conducted for candidates seeking admissions to undergraduate medical and dental courses to 15 per cent seats in Government Medical/ Dental College and are also used by participating private colleges.

JEE (Advanced) result 2014: To be announced on June 19

The results for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced are to be declared on June 19, as per a notification on the official website. Once the results are declared, online filling of choice for various courses will begin. The filling of choices will continue till June 24.

The answer keys for the same have been released on June 1. The candidates who are not satisfied with them can submit their comments (if any) on the answer keys up to June 5 by 5 pm.

In order to submit the comments, the candidates are required to e-mail the comments to chairjee@adm.iitkgp.ernet.in.

Once all the comments are received till June 5, they will be compiled and in case of any changes in the answer key, it shall be notified on the official page of the website on June 6 at 1200 hours.

The JEE (Advanced) 2014 results can be checked on the official website. By inserting the registration number, the candidates will be able to view their scores and find out if they are eligible for admissions to undergraduate courses at either of these institutes: Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Ratapur Chowk, Rae Bareli, UP; Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER); Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram; Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.


Assam to launch special scheme for poor meritorious students


GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi today announced that his government would soon launch a special scheme for poor meritorious students of the state.The scheme would be launched keeping in view the sterling performances put in by poor students in the high school leaving certificate, high madrassa and higher secondary examinations, results for which were announced yesterday, Gogoi said in a statement.

The government would extend scholarships to poor meritorious students so that they can pursue higher education and this step would ensure that students of poor and weaker sections of the society get quality education, he said."The foundation has been laid for bridging the gap of education between affluent and poor students. These students are our real assets and they deserve a helping hand," he said.


CBSE will now allow ‘revaluation’


NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced the provision of 'revaluation' at Class XII level from this year. It is in addition to the provisions of verification of marks and obtaining of photocopy of evaluated answer books which are already in practice.It is a three-step interlinked process as candidates applying for verification of marks will only be eligible to apply for obtaining photocopy of evaluated answer book and those obtaining photocopy of answer book will only be eligible to apply for revaluation in the identified subjects only.

For verification of marks, applications should make an online request within seven days with effect from Friday. The last day of request is June 5 and applicants need to pay Rs 300 per subject. Request for obtaining photocopy of answer book can be made between June 20 and June 23. In case a student is not satisfied, they can request for revaluation, but before that they must follow these two steps. The entire application process is online.

Delhi University admissions 2014: High Court exempts four colleges from OBC quota
The results for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT ) held on Saturday, i.e May 11 at 21 centers is out and the counseling process has already begun today and will continue till Jun 09.
In the above mentioned stipulated period candidates will be able to mark the preferences of the
NLUs for admission.
Publication of provisional allotment list of candidates allotted to various universities against the actual seats and waiting list is be done on June 11.The fourth and final list will be out on June 22.
The first phase of online counseling is comprising of the top 2500 candidates (comprising 40% extra candidates proportionately from various categories such as General/SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc.) in the merit list.
Candidates interested in counseling however has to deposit the adjustable fees of `1,00,000/- either online/offline through the website. The candidates failing to deposit the required fees through the website with the CLAT Office by the specified date will forfeit their right to be considered for admission in future and their names will be dropped from the CLAT Merit List.
Candidates failing to secure a seat will be refunded the entire amount.
After the candidates are finally allotted to various Universities, the candidates will be required to approach the allotted Universities with the balance amount towards the admission fees and the relevant certificates/documents in original issued by the competent authority in support of the various claims made by the candidates, between June 24 and June 27 and complete the admission formalities. The certificates in original will be checked by the respective Universities at the time of their admission.

UPSC CDS results for written test 2014 declared
UPSC CDS (i) 2014 written test results have been declared and roll numbers of candidates having successfully cleared the exam are available on the official UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) website. Candidates having successfully cleared the UPSC CDS written test will be eligible for the interviews/personality test to be conducted by the Service Selection Board (SSB) of the Ministry of Defecnce.
